How to pay on Steam

Games on Steam are bought by card or from the Steam Wallet, which is topped up in Account Details. Steam declines payments through a VPN and asks for a payment method from the store’s country. Our card is a Visa in dollars: issuing costs $10, you top up with crypto, and a transfer to the card is 7.5%.

What you need

  1. Top up the card

Transfer the amount with some extra. The card is also charged $0.25 per payment and 2.5% if the price is not in dollars.

  2. Turn off the VPN

Steam declines all payments made through a VPN or proxy.

  3. Open the wallet top‑up

Tap your name at the top right, then Account Details and +Add funds to your Steam Wallet. Choose the amount.

  4. Enter the card and address

Copy the number, expiry and CVV in “Details”. Type the name in Latin letters and enter your own address. Steam declines payments with a wrong address or CVV.

  5. Confirm the payment

The confirmation code arrives in the chat with the bot. Steam emails you the receipt.

Top up the Steam Wallet in one payment and buy games from it. That way $0.25 is charged once, not for every purchase.

Common questions

Steam declined the payment, but the amount is held

Steam will not charge it, the amount returns to the card and the history entry changes to “Canceled”. Steam sends an email with a link, and with it you can retry the purchase for 72 hours. Do not make many attempts in a row.
